giveaway: Lindsay's Secret Closet

We have a lovely giveaway! My dear friend Lindsay and I went to high school together. In fact, we danced together in high school! Anyway, she has this cute little shop called Lindsay's Secret Closet and we are doing a giveaway!

Lindsay provided me this awesome mint, striped maxi skirt and I LOVE it! I have worn it 3 times since I got it and there are not enough words for it. It is extremely comfortable, and it is still very fitting for showing off those curves we all love. Plus it's light and perfect for all seasons!

sunday best

I dragged my husband out into the cold to take some photos of me yesterday after church. This means we've got a new fashion post! Excuse the sloppy top bun, and my white legs. It has been a while since those babies have seen some sunlight.

white cardigan: Bohme Boutique
grey boots: Payless
white belt: mom's closet
pink earings: JCPenny

John and I live in a house in lovely Rexburg. Well actually we live in the basement of a house, and above us live a few single girls. The other day I was home alone, trying to take a nap before I started on some much needed homework, and I heard the strangest noises coming from upstairs. It was either creaky floors, or a squeaky bed. The noise was so consistent. Just repetitive squeaking. I know this is terrible of me to assume, but I most definitely thought that a little something was going on between a girl, a boy, and a very squeaky bed. Eventually the noises stopped, and I forgot all about it. A few days later I heard the same noises and got my suspicions again. The noises continued throughout the week, and finally, one day when it started up again, I went outside and started peeking through the windows. My findings were definitely NOT what I predicted. Just a girl, facing her TV, exercising; p90x to be exact. I felt relieved and embarrassed all in one.

The latest movie John and I watched together was Here Comes the Boom. If you're a Kevin James fan, you will definitely love this one. We got some good laughs through it, and it has some good messages as well. Redbox it yo!

my girl Kirsty

One of the great things about attending a great university, is meeting great people with great talents. Kirsty is a photography student and is blossoming! I had the pleasure of being her model (for lack of a better term) and we had such a blast together. We met a semester ago in a photography class and I immediately wanted to be her friend because of her brilliant english accent. Fascinating I know. We soon clicked, and I hope we get to spend even more time together. Here are just a few of my favorites.

I give all credit to Kirsty for making me look so dang hot! You should seriously check her out. Not in that way though, she's married.

glitter

As a young designer, I have a goal to make the world a prettier place (such a lost dream I know). I would like to think that chevron stripes, lace, glitter, and a bit of color are a great way to start.

I'm not necessarily a fashion blog, but I do think that a few posts here and there can be a lovely contribution to making the world a prettier place. These shoes are my newest glitter contribution! Now, I know this is forbidden, and I rarely-to-never do it, but I was desperate. These are a payless shoe find. Spring time is coming and I needed some cute new glam to glitz up my wardrobe. What do you think? Photo credit given to myself on these.

DIY and a silly obsession

Today has been a kitchen cleaning, laundry doing, DIY kind of day! I had the day off from work today so instead of working on school stuff (which would be reasonable) I decided to do some things around the home.

Here's a little arrangement I made in our front hallway. John and I have key problems apparently, so I made a cute little key hanger with an old mint frame I had laying around, some cute scrap book paper, and some screw hooks. Really simple and I love the way it turned out!

Finally made something cute to hang up all of my earings! They are too fun not to put up on display. I don't even know where the gold frame came from but I love it. I got some cute lace ribbon and hot glued the ribbon to the frame, and now my earings will forever have a home. Now I just need something to hang my necklaces.

I am not very good at keeping sentimental things. I just don't do clutter. Last week I was getting sick of crumbly flowers getting everywhere and I almost trashed my wedding bouquet. I know right? Well somebody gave me the idea to take all the flowers off and put them in a jar. So I did! And here is my lovely bottled bouquet. I like it a whole lot more than the messy one.

Anybody a fan of Downton Abbey? Well you should be. It's a television series that I have become fairly obsessed with. Seriously it is definitely worth your time. Watch it. I have never been a dedicated television series watcher, but I can fully say that I have watched every single episode, and am just longing for more. One problem I have with any movie, book, series, etc. is that I get too emotionally attached to the characters. It's becoming a problem. It's not like I get creepy obsessive, but it's more like my emotions start becoming tied to theirs. If a character is completely giddy over something, then I start acting the same way. If someone dies, then I could cry for hours. Pathetic right? Yeah I know...

fashion and flowers

My husband scored big time! A few days ago I was stressed out because the house was a mess, laundry needed to be done, and I just couldn't squeeze any of it in between school and work. Oh and John had to break our door down because I locked us out, with the key inside. Smart move right? Well it kind of resulted in a broken door knob. Well, yesterday while I was at work, John played house-husband! He cleaned, did laundry, fixed the door so we didn't have a cold apartment, AND he bought me flowers! You don't realize how much I have been dropping the hint (more like demanding) that I want flowers! I am one lucky girl.

The best part was that he asked me to help him find something under the couch. I went to go lift the couch so he could search underneath, but to my surprise there was a vase of flowers, right between the couch and the wall. He is just full of surprises!

Here's something new! Thanks goes to my sister Michelle for helping me with the photos. I've been into polka dots lately and I hope you like them too.

Now don't judge when you read where I got these. I am not one to spend $30 on a shirt so I make my ways. It's difficult to find clothes that I love for a low price though but I think target is the solution. They usually have trendy clothes for reasonable prices. Love target!

Peplum, polka-dot top: Target
Black jeggings: Nordstrom Rack
Teal necklace: My Mom's closet... hehe
Boots: Santa Clause brought them to me
(you will probably be seeing a lot of the boots because I love them too much)
